On the beach in Manzanilla, Costa Rica

I'm Katrina. Hola.

I quit my job in London to go travelling the world - to get lost so I could find myself.

I woke up one morning around my birthday (October, do remember) last year and thought: I can't do this anymore. I knew I didn't want to work for the man, to be a cog in a big machine of which I found no purpose or fulfilment. I didn't know exactly what to do or how to do it, but I did know I loved writing and people and making things with my hands and travel so exploring the world seemed like the best starting point.

Central and South America had always held some intrigue and excitement for me, so I hatched a plan, saved as much money as I could, let go of my rented apartment, quit my job and hit the road.

This is my adventure. I hope you enjoy it.

For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again
